Pravin K Vaddavalli serves as Director of the Tej Kohli Cornea Institute at LV Prasad Eye Institute and is Head of the Refractive surgery, Cataract and Contact Lens service at the LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India. He completed his medical schooling from Bangalore Medical College and residency from Guntur Medical College and went on to complete a fellowship in Cornea and anterior segment at LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad followed by a second fellowship in Cornea and Refractive surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Miami. He has over 70 publications is peer reviewed Ophthalmology journals and over 300 presentations at international and national meetings and has written chapters for mainstream Cornea textbooks. He has won the outstanding young scientist award at Asia ARVO and the national best paper award twice, for Cornea and for Refractive surgery and has won three best paper of session awards at the ASCRS. His areas of interest include corneal transplantation, lamellar corneal surgery, keratoconus, refractive surgery and corneal diagnostics.
Clinical Associate Professor WONG HON TYM (黄宏森) MBBS, FRCSEd, MMed, FAMS Clinical Associate Professor Wong Hon Tym is the Medical Director of Singapore’s National Healthcare Group Eye Institute, a Senior Consultant in the Ophthalmology Department, Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), and the Clinical Director of the Centre for Healthcare Innovation, a thought leadership platform for workforce transformation. His fellowship training in glaucoma was at Moorfields Eye Hospital, UK (2002), and he has published research on glaucoma surgery and imaging. A/Prof Wong served as Head of TTSH’s Ophthalmology Department from 2007 – 2016. In this period, the department doubled in strength to over 30 consultants, and achieved milestones in research, training and primary eye care. He is a member of TTSH’s Clinical Board, and was Clinical Director of NHG 1Health (2008-2015), an ambulatory centre where he led the redesign of cataract surgery into a value-added process. He is also a hospital Critical Incident Manager and Open Communication instructor. A/Prof Wong has garnered multiple Best Teacher Awards, mentored international fellows, and has been an invited speaker & instructor at many global ophthalmic & healthcare conferences. He is also a volunteer Board Director for the Guide Dogs Association for the Blind. For his work, A/Prof Wong was bestowed the Excellent Service Star Award (2006), Distinguished Service Award at the Eye and Vision Health Awards (2013), and the NHG Outstanding Citizenship Award (2014).
